TEA Party of the Kansas City area

Because you can't fix stupid...

but you can VOTE IT OUT

Taxed

Enough

Already

so What IS a TEA Party????

This is the best definition that I've ever seen....

"I attended several "tea party" events last month. Apart from the large turnouts, I noticed that the prevalent concern among the crowds wasn't with partisan victory, or even with their own economic situation. It was concern about the survival of the American Constitution and American liberty. Millions of Americans realize that socialist economics, pervasive government control and rampant greed and self-indulgence are inconsistent with our survival as a free people. They reject the Obama faction's bid for unchecked power, but they also reject the unprincipled Republicans whose biggest regret is that they lost power, not that they squandered the opportunity to defend and strengthen liberty while they had it. They know that neither party represents the moral or political sovereignty of the American people." - Alan Keyes

URGENT - ACT NOW

Be sure to check out all of the upcoming TEA party events & rallies in and around Kansas City, and watch the Issues page to keep track of the newest escapades of our "leaders".

WHO AM I, WHY AM I DOING THIS?

In a nutshell... I'm a grandma who does not want to see her grandson be a slave to the Chinese (or anyone else) for the TRILLIONS of dollars that our "leaders" are pissing away. I want him to enjoy the same free, wonderful United States that I did growing up.

I spent the money from my own pocket to start this website and have it hosted. I want it to be a source of information for those who have attended, or would like to attend, a tea party, or just wonder what "tea parties" are all about.

This website is for the entire Greater Kansas City Area. I'll also provide links to tea party info that's outside the KC area or is nationwide. This is about grassroots, common-people efforts, after all, and we need to be able to find information.

I've lived in the Kansas City area all of my life. Right now I own a small business, but I spent PLENTY of years working for others. While I grew up discussing news and politics at the dinner table, I've never run for any political office (and never will)... but I have voted in every single election since I was old enough to do so. I'm ALWAYS happy to share my political opinions with anyone who will listen. I'm generally what one would call a conservative, but consider myself an independent voter. The only candidate that I can say I ever really WANTED to vote for and was excited about was Ronald Reagan. Mostly I just held my nose and voted for the candidate that stinks the least ( but I won't be doing THAT anymore).

Before I go any further, let me say that this is NOT about one political party, because I can find plenty of slimeballs in BOTH parties. And let's face it, no one single politician, be it president, senator, or congressperson, can have much effect on anything by themselves... it take two or more!

Note: The love of my life was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2009, so things on this website from that point forward may be somewhat lacking. I now face two mighty foes, a government gone insane and a cancer trying to suck the life out of my husband. I've got to agree with Patrick Swayze's wife, who stated in an interview that dealing with her husband's pancreatic cancer was like "every day is a 9-1-1 emergency day", so it's a little tough to spend the time I did before to find sources and events. Soooo, if you'd really like to help out, please email me with a brief message of the event or happening or news item you think should appear here along with a link to any web information or contact info about it, and I'll get it posted as quickly as I can. I'm also needing help or advice to construct a mailing list.... I use Outlook Express for my mail but don't have the time or patience to figure out how to do a mailing list with it... maybe there's some free-standing program to use (preferably free or very low-cost)??? I'd like something that's easy to use & doesn't require either a computer science degree or a ton of time to use, and it for sure has to have a "bcc" feature so I'm not spreading folk's email addys around to everyone.. Thanks for your input.

It is SO important that we continue with the tea parties if we want politicians to take our concerns seriously. We now know that we HAVE to get involved and make our voices heard... we have to vote what's really best for our country, not just pick the candidate that sickens us the least. I urge you to also visit the "ISSUES" page and find a cause that's near and dear to you, and get involved in seeing it passed/fixed/removed (my pet issue is the FairTax, but there are plenty to choose from). - Kim
